Robert Laron Robertson

Robert Laron Robertson, 75, of Tillar passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019. Robert was born on March 22, 1944 in Dumas to the late John Bennett and Graydell Preston Robertson. 

He was a lifelong farmer. Robert served on the City Council of Tillar and served one year as Mayor. He served in the Air National Guard and as a Drew County Deputy Sheriff. 

He was retired from the Tillar Volunteer Fire Department. Robert was a member of the Mt. Tabor Hunting Club. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of McGehee, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school director and a Sunday school teacher for many years.   

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Drew Robertson; three brothers, John Bennett Robertson Jr., Kenneth Robertson and Tommy Robertson; and one sister, Lawanda Robertson.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Donnie Robertson of Tillar; a son, Johnathan (Michelle) Robertson of Searcy; a brother, Joe (Carolyn) Robertson of Tillar; and thee grandchildren, Jake Robertson, Landon Robertson and Jensyn Robertson.

Visitation was Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee. Graveside services followed at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home in Monticello, in care of Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home, 10 Remington Drive, Little Rock 72204.  Arrangements were by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of McGehee. Online guestbook: www.griffinculpepper.com.
