Monday, the Drew County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a home on Midway Route being burglarized. The homeowner had a list of items that had been taken from his residence.
That same day, deputies went to 280 Midway Route to make contact with Aaron Pamplin, a 24-year-old resident of Drew County. As they and Drew County Sheriff Mark Gober pulled into the residence, the suspect ran from the area.
Deputies were able to find Pamplin hiding in an abandoned trailer, upon which time he was taken back to 280 Midway Route. The stolen property—along with a shotgun—was recovered from the break in. A metal pipe, generally used for controlled substances, was also taken from the home.
Pamplin was placed in the Drew County Detention Facility and charged with Residential Burglary, Theft of Property, Theft by Receiving, Theft Of a Firearm, Fleeing, Aggravated Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons. The aggravated assault charge stemmed from the previous night when it is alleged that he pointed a gun at an individual.
Tuesday, Pamplin went before Circuit Judge Teresa French and was given a $50,000 commercial bond. He is currently still in the custody of the DCSO.
